OVER 25 YEARS OF QUALITY - HANDMADE IN THE U.S.A.
Since 1977 QMC has built the highest quality, highest capacity boom trucks in the world. In underground vault setting, in the oil fields, at power plants, and in general construction, QMC boom trucks have earned a reputation for extreme durability.  The heart of a QMC boom truck is the steel. All major structural components are manufactured of 100,000 PSI steel as minimum.  This high tensile steel must be cut and fitted by hand to exacting tolerances. Then, following strict protocols, the components are welded into an integral lifting structure with an unequalled strength-to-weight ratio.  The result?
DURABILITY · CAPACITY · PAYLOAD

All QMC boom trucks feature:

  • "Crane" type out and down outriggers.
  • Full-length, totally enclosed torsion box sub-frame that resists flexing.
  • Interlock pedestal for increased rigidity.
  • Vertical boom hoist cylinder for greater under boom clearance and higher capacities at low boom angles.
  • Large diameter, duty-cycle rated turntable bearing.
  • Unitized crane and sub-frame to spread stress evenly.
MOUNTING ON COMMERCIAL TRUCKS PROVIDES ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
  •   Higher Road Speeds
  •  Cost Effective Parts & Service
  •  Better Gradeability
  •  Engine/Drive Train Options
  •  Increased Driver Comfort
  •  Extended Warranties

THE RESULT - HIGHER CAPACITY, GREATER MOBILITY,

  INCREASED PROFIT.

QMC has two primary product lines, boom trucks and truck cranes.  The boom trucks are cranes mounted on the rear of commercial truck chassis and ahead of the fifth wheel on three and four axle tractor.  Their primary use is to transport and unload large and heavy products. The truck-mounted cranes are centered over the rear tandem axles of a commercial truck chassis.  With longer boom lengths and enclosed operator cabs these cranes offer a viable alternative to carrier mounted truck cranes.  QMC's reputation is based on the individual attention given to each unit produced.  Each crane is tailored as much as possible to each customer's application.

A Few Words on QMC's Truck Mounted Cranes and Booms

*  Capacity:  In most cases, particularly when lifting over the side, QMC machines out pick the competition  by dramatic margins.  This is particularly true at extended radii of 25' to 70".

*  Quality:  QMC cranes are made of 100,000 PSI steel, which gives them an unequalled strength-to-weight  ratio.  Components are hand fitted to exact tolerances.  In terms of both material and workmanship, no  other North American manufacturer builds a better product.

*  Road Speed:  Because QMC mounts truck cranes on standard truck chassis, the carrier can be equipped  with higher performance engines, transmissions, and suspensions.  The result is better road speeds and  high-speed gradability when compared to competitive truck cranes.

*  Operator Comfort:  A crane operator would rather spend 40 hours a week driving a Kenworth or Ford or  Peterbuild or other conventional truck instead of being pounded by a crane carrier all day.  Cabs are also  two-man, rather than cramped single operator cabs.

*  Replacement ability:  The carrier of a truck crane usually wears out long before the crane itself.  When  the chassis wears out with QMC machines, it can be easily replaced.  The crane can be removed from the  old chassis and remounted on a new in one or two days.

QMC cranes are constantly updated in terms and design and components.  In addition, special application  cranes can be designed and manufactured to meet the specific needs of end users.
